Review

Snuff Bottle connection is an above average Kung Fu flick with some really appalling acting and some really rather terrible hair!

Plot is not just your basic revenge jobby, it’s all about secret agents and double crossing traitors as well as a healthy dose of evil foreigner (In the form of some very bad haired alleged Russians… though their accents are entirely unidentifiable!) and… well maybe just a little bit of revenge thrown in for good measure.

The fight scenes are a little mixed, some are cracking and some are not quite so good. This is one of Yuen Woo Pings early films as choreographer and already for the most part you can see the style we’ve come to know and love over the years!

I really couldn’t concentrate on any of the fights involving the Russian dudes because they weren’t some of the best in the movie and one of them has quite the worst hair I’ve seen in a long time. There is this small kid who is also a bit annoying even though his acrobatic skills are pretty good… I was quite pleased to see the back of him in the general scheme of the story though!

This is a very well paced film; you’d find it hard to be bored with it as it does trot along quite nicely! You get a decent amount of fights like I said some are better than others but I have to say the final fight is really good and all in all if you’re a fan of the genre then this one is well worth a look. Some excellent unintentional humour and never too long to wait for the next bit of action makes this an ideal film for an evening of getting smashed with some like minded fans!
