ReviewSince I seen the trailer of this movie, I’ve been in a huge hype about it… had lots of expectations for it, and when the DVD came out… I wanted so much to buy that deluxe edition… but I didn’t because it would’ve come around 200$CAN and… 200 is a bit high for a movie I haven’t seen and which I had extremely high expectation for it (which 90% of the time, my expectations are never met).
The Story is about 2 Shinobi Training Villages that has been at war for ages until the “Lord of the Lords” made them sign a truce of peace between them. Years later the Lord of Lords asks them to send 5 fighters each village to fight themselves and the winning village will decide the successor of the Shogun title. And so each village sends the 5 best Shinobis to fight each others. Now the story starts as a couple live an impossible love because they are from these opposing villages… and to make matter worst, they are among the 5 chosen of each village to fight each others. So the story so far is nothing specials, but the whole movie did satisfy all the expectations I had. This movie is incredibly NICE… beautiful settings and environment, all the characters are colourful and played just great, the action is incredible and the special effect are top notch. Although the story is nothing special… basic Clan vs Clan movie but I did was surprised by plot twists which were great. I expected most a lot of fights… and was delighted by them… there’s a lot of action, and each scenes brings something new… there’s no fight using the same action… each of the Shinobis masters a certain dark art; one has powers to regenerate extremely fast, one is made of poison, breath and touch are deadly, one is a shape-shifter, for example just to name a few… And each fight shows every single of these arts perfectly. The actors playing these Characters are just great… I’m used to see Japanese Movies played by Music Pop Idols which can sign, but can’t act at all… but this movie… wow! Just nice, real actors for once! The special effect, although they’re incredibly well done, I was disappointed by the “abuse” use of CGI to represent the people leaping in the air; yes the special Effect are incredibly well done, but not even the BEST special effect can recreate a human perfectly. There’s not much I can say about it beside this movie is a definite MUST SEE. Story: 5/5 Overall: 5/5 Review by Slave (Quebec, Canada) You can buy this movie now from sensasian.com or from yesasia |
