Review

I havent seen or heard anything from this movie really, I ordered it along a handfull of others (it comes cheaper the more you buy lol) It looked good, and the trailer seemed nice, so I gave it it's chance.

The story is about a pair of Cursed Red shoes, when a woman wears it, she'll die and have her feet chopped off in a somewhat gruesome death. After the opening scene, which settle the kind of movie and atmosphere the movie will go, the story picks up where a woman finds those Red (although Pinkish) shoes in the subway... she suddenly feel hipnotized by them and takes them home... the fact that this woman is actually some sort of shoe collector is stricly coincidential... from then whenever she wears those shoes, she become someone very different, more direct, violent person. Until the day her 6... maybe 7 years old daughter falls to the cursed shoes, also hypnotized by them, mother and daughter fights violently to get them shoes. Yeah... Silly Story... not as much silly as a Cursed Video Tape, or a Cursed Cellular, a Cursed Wig, or a Cursed... whatever... So yeah, this movie is a Horror Cursed Item genre... like so many others.

I wasnt expecting anything out of this movie, I'm a bit getting tired of the "cursed Item" genre of movie, there's just too many... but then again I'm a huge Asian Horror fan so I'll pretty much buy anything Horror related, bring on a Cursed Tooth Brush movie, I'll get in line to get it... no matter how silly it sounds... actually don't miss my upcoming review of the Cursed Wig movie in the next week :-) (yeah I'm serious).

The story, no matter the sillyness of the subject, is rather unoriginal, yet another Cursed item movie. Althought some decent twists and the gore, this is rather a dull horror movie. There's nothing new actually, everything has been pretty much used here and there in the horror industry. Quite an average horror movie. What I did find suprising what for one; the little girl who plays the daughter; Great acting from one part, quite convincing, she plays a really eerie, scary looking part and must've been hard on another part to play so "nicely" with the actresse playing her mother. The second thing that suprised me was the amount of Gore, that's one thing that I think lacks in most modern Asian horror movies, but in this one, although it's not often gory, when it is, it's quite nice... there's one scene in particular where the amount of blood will make you remember a particular scene from Evil Dead 2... Not saying which, don't wanna spoil anything :-) Besides that, I can't add nothing more. This movie is your basic "mainstream" horror flick which seems to just follow the trends and tries to cut itself a place on the booming market of horror movies.

Again I must say again that this movie really suffer from originality, everything seems to have been already done before, but also, seems to have been done in a better way than this one. If you're looking for something new and really scary, you might want to check something else, if on the other hand, you're just like me and you're in need of an horror flick no matter the cost, you might consider Red Shoes as an option... Rental only, may I add.

Cast: 5/5 (Simply for the little girl, am quite suprised by her performance)
Story: 3/5 (Did I mention it wasnt original?)
Scarinest: 4/5 (it had its moments)
Gore: 5/5 (quite please with it... not abused but very present)

3 out of 5
(again... for the Xth times... not original one bit :-( very disapointing)
