Review

A train has crashed and there seems to be many deaths not a lot is given away as the credits roll. After the credits you follow a young lady who’s selling food and drink on the train, it starts to fill with commuters as it sits at the train station. The train leaves for Seoul, which takes over 6 hrs so the whole movie is set on board the train. Shortly afterwards a child appears on the tracks in a tunnel, they break but when they stop they find nothing. A couple of spooky things happen to OH Mi-sun (lady selling drink/food) she’s a little freaked out but is befriended by So Hee who can see ghost. More spooky things begin to happen when a lady is murdered in the toilets by a mysterious force then another murder follows.

Mi-sun starts drifting between the ghost world and the real world, starting to loose track of where she actually is. The crew notice this and get So Hee to talk to her whilst they all try and understand what’s happening. Whilst So Hee’s male friend start taking pictures of the carriages I lady appears in his camera and scares the shit out of him causing him to pass out. It seems that all of the forces/ghosts on the train are related to the earlier accident. So Hee dies a mysterious death but manages to tell Oh Mi-Sun of a passenger who is possessed by a evil spirit before dying but she realises too late and gets stabbed by the girl. This girl who’s possessed proceeds to take over the train along with her brother and sets it on a collision course. The train itself starts to be taken over by evil forces and transports the whole train into the ghost realm. So Hee manages to lead the ghost in the right direction preventing the tragedy from happening again.

The special effects are very good audio is impressive along with the story and how they have managed to create a creepy atmosphere, keeping it a interesting story from the word go. The ending could have been better or maybe darker but all in a good watch. You do have to put the subs on with the menu, which is a bit difficult as it’s all in Korean . All round a nice movie not great but good enough for late Saturday or Friday.
