My 12 kung fu Kicks is pretty standard KF Flick fare with some very good acrobatics!
Bruce Leung stars as a pickpocket who picks the wrong pocket so to speak and gets a proper pasting from some moneylender and his crew. Meanwhile 3 alleged masters of Kung Fu get an even bigger pasting off some bald dude. He’s a bad ‘un and he crushed the tendons in one guys legs (It’s quite a wince worthy occurrence I must say) anyway, all 3 end up completely messed up and unable to fight and are taken in by Leung (who seems to live in a temple and take in a few waifs & strays) you can guess what happens next? They teach him Kung Fu so he can get revenge.
That in a nutshell is it… basic plot for one of these kinds of movies. More importantly than the plot is the action… and I have to say it’s pretty good, Leung is a good Martial Artist, the choreography is nothing spectacular but good enough. It certainly is fast paced, though the comedy aspect of this is pretty dire… You end up holding your head rather than laughing.
It’s not gonna blow your mind or anything but a few beers and some like minded friends and you could definitely have a laugh with this. It’s not a good film… but it’s not a bad action film.
