This is John Woo all right, not quite at his best but hell… good enough for an evenings entertainment! We have lots of guns, never ending magazines and a whole boatload of blood bags… looks like we have ourselves a movie;)
The plot (If you can call it such a thing) is a little tenuous; some mercenaries are hired to capture a drug lord in exchange for green cards for them and their families to go to America. They need to transport the drug lord through Laos to Thailand. They get kind of embroiled in some other stuff along the way and before you know it whole bundles of people are after them.
It’s all just an excuse for lots f shooting people and some scrapping… and more shooting people… then when you’re done with that shoot a few more people. That’s pretty much it. The whole movie looks cheap but damn… it is entertaining. 90 minutes of crazy action, never gonna win any awards but who cares. This is perfect for those days when you don’t really want to concentrate on a movie… it bangs along, makes you laugh and has a bloke with a blood soaked eye plaster through the whole thing. Also if you watch you’ll see a few moments of Lone Wolf & Cub in there… that is never a bad thing!
All in all not a great film but a good enjoyable action film!
